This is a One Bar Magicka Warden build provided during the Slayers College. This build should get you through most content in the game.

GENERAL TIPS FOR DAMAGE DEALERS : 

  • Use Potions on cooldowns. The recommended potion for this build gives you instant resources back and increased recovery. This is very handy for long fights. Be sure to have the ‘’Medicinal Use'' passive unlocked from the Alchemy skill line to increase the duration of these effects. 
  • Always use a Light Attack (or a Heavy Attack if on a Heavy Attack build) after each skill. This doesn't only add extra damage, but it also builds up Ultimate, which means you can use your Ultimate skill more frequently.
  • Always use your buff food before going into content. This adds important stats to your character, which will make you a lot more survivable. 
  • Never stay behind the tank and always stay in front of the healer. This way you will avoid most damage and you will be in range for the healers to heal you. 

 

BUILD ROTATION :

This build is a Heavy Attack build, which means you do a fully charged Heavy Attack after each skill. This does a lot of damage AND restores you resources, which is the reason why we don't use sustain food, but something that increases your total amount of resources. In terms of rotation, start by using ‘’Subterranean Assault'', followed by ‘’Winters Revenge'' and then the rest of your ba. After you've cast all your skills, do a Heavy Attack. Once your skills start to expire, reapply them. Cast a skill, do a Heavy Attack, cast a skill, do a Heavy Attack. Use your Ultimate whenever it is available. 

 

GEAR ALTERNATIVES :

Both sets are easy to get, since they are from base game dungeons. Sergeants Mail is the more important gear set here and is essential for the build. Infallible Mage can be used instead of Storm Master, as it increases the damage of your Heavy Attacks, but Storm Master is still prefered. Noble Duelist is less comon on Heavy Attack builds, but it should still work, as it also increases the damage of your Heavy Attacks. 

 

Sidenote : the Warden has an unique passive that boosts your damage if you are using a Frost Staff, but in terms of damage output, a Lightning Staff still outperforms it.
